Capsule Memo 🇫🇷

Privacy policy

Last updated: 17 August 2026

🔒 Capsule Memo collects nothing. There is no Capsule Memo server: your recordings, transcripts and summaries stay on your iPhone.

Who publishes this app

Capsule Memo is published by Sullivan Thimotée, an independent developer. Contact: sullivan98.th@gmail.com. Because the app sends no personal data to the publisher, the publisher carries out no processing of personal data under the GDPR.

What the app stores, and where it lives

Your audio recordings, transcripts, summaries, action items, notes, tags and settings are stored in the app's private container on your device, protected by iOS data protection. Nothing is sent to the publisher or to any third party.

What the app does not do

Permissions, and why

MicrophoneTo record the audio you choose to capture. Required for the app to work.
RemindersTo write the action items you choose to export. Optional.
Face IDTo lock the app. Biometrics never leave your iPhone's Secure Enclave and the app never accesses them. Optional.
NotificationsThe evening recap and the capture nudge. Optional.

The only network connections

In fairness: the app itself sends nothing, but two downloads exist. Apple's speech models are downloaded by iOS, and the speaker-recognition model (FluidAudio library) is downloaded once from its public host if you leave that feature on. Those downloads expose your IP address to the host in question, like any download; no content from your recordings is ever transmitted. After that, everything works offline, airplane mode included.

Apple Intelligence

Summaries, detected action items and chat use the language model built into iOS, running on your device. Your recordings are never used to train a model and are never sent to any AI service.

iCloud, if you turn it on

The backup and the Markdown copies are written to your private iCloud, under your Apple account. Apple hosts those files under your own iCloud agreement. The publisher has no access to them. Both features are off by default.

Keeping and deleting

You keep your recordings for as long as you want. A recording is deleted with a swipe; "Delete all sessions" wipes the database, the transcripts and the audio files. Deleting the app destroys everything.

Your rights

Since no data is transmitted to or processed by the publisher, your rights of access, rectification, erasure and portability are exercised directly in the app: Markdown, PDF, text or audio export covers portability, and deletion covers erasure. The publisher makes no transfer outside the European Union. You keep the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13. As no data is collected, no children's data is processed.

A legal reminder about recording

Recording a conversation without the participants' consent is illegal in most countries (in France: article 226-1 of the Criminal Code). Capsule Memo is designed for your own journal and for conversations where everyone agrees. You remain responsible for how you use the app.

Changes

Any change to this policy will be published on this page, with a new update date. Questions? Write to sullivan98.th@gmail.com.
