Privacy
The short version. Simple Thumbnail Maker creates no account, measures no audience and tracks nothing. Your photos stay on your iPhone unless you turn on iCloud sync yourself, and then they go into your iCloud account, which we cannot read. Either way nothing ever reaches us: there is nothing to hand to anyone, and nothing to sell.

2. What the app does not do
- No account, no sign-up, no sign-in.
- No analytics, no measurement tools, no third-party SDKs.
- No advertising and no ad tracking: the app never shows the iOS tracking prompt and never reads the advertising identifier.
- No networking code of ours. The source contains no
URLSession, noWKWebView, noNetworkframework. The one network exchange is the App Store's own, handled by Apple, and all it brings back is whether a purchase is active.
3. Your photos
You pick a photo through the iOS system picker. The app receives only the image you selected: it cannot browse the rest of your library.
The photo is copied into the app's private storage, on the device, so you can reopen your project. It is processed and rendered locally, and it is never sent anywhere.
To save a finished thumbnail the app asks for add-only Photos access. That permission lets it write one image into your camera roll; it grants no ability to read the photos already there.
4. Subject detection
The feature that puts text behind you uses Vision, Apple's image analysis engine, entirely on the device. No image is sent to a server. We do not have one, and nothing goes to Apple either.

Deleting the app deletes all of it, with two exceptions. The date of your last free export stays in the keychain: that is what makes the free tier's limit hold, where a reinstall would otherwise reset it. And if you turned iCloud sync on, the copy of your projects stays in your iCloud account until you turn the switch off, which deletes it.
6. iCloud sync
It is off until you turn it on, and it is included with the paid version. Turned on, it sends your projects and their photos into the private storage of your iCloud account, so you find them on your other devices. Apple holds them, under your account: we have no access to them and can read nothing there.
What goes up: your projects and the photos you imported. What does not: the cutouts and the preview thumbnails, which your device can rebuild on its own.
Turning the switch off deletes the iCloud copy and gives the space back. Nothing is ever removed from your device. A lapsed purchase only stops the syncing: deleting stays something only you can do.
7. Purchases
The subscription and the lifetime purchase go through the App Store. Apple processes the payment. The app receives one piece of information back from Apple: the purchase is active, or it is not. It never sees your payment method, your name or your address. Apple's handling of that data falls under Apple's privacy policy.
8. This website
This site is static. It sets no cookies, uses no measurement tool and loads nothing from a third-party service: the typeface is served from the same host, precisely so that no visitor's IP address goes anywhere else.
Like any web server, the host (Infomaniak, in Switzerland) keeps technical access logs including the IP address, for security and diagnostics. Those logs are not used for analytics.
9. Children
The app is not directed at children and knowingly collects no data about them: it collects none about anyone, at any age.
10. Your rights
European law (GDPR) and Swiss law (FADP) give you rights of access, correction and erasure over personal data held about you. The app holds none on any server, because there is no server and no account. There is nothing to request: the only data that exists is on your device, and in your own iCloud account if you turned sync on, in both cases under your direct control. 11. Changes
If a future version of the app changed any of this, this page would be updated before that version shipped, and the date at the top changed accordingly.
